It was a great honor to give a presentation on April 4, 2023, at the “How to apply for direct EU fundings successfully?” event, organized jointly by the Ministry of Justice’s State Secretariat for European Affairs and the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
At the event, we aimed to present direct EU funds to Hungarian SMEs. The presentations of the webinar provided an orientation with detailed introduction of the possibilities through concrete examples. It is always a great pleasure for us to participate in such an event, the focus of which coincides with our mission; because we are constantly working on new project ideas with our foreign partners to provide the opportunity for domestic innovative companies to get involved in international projects.
The webinar was opened by Dr. János Bóka, Ministry of Justice State Secretary Responsible for EU Affairs, and Mr. Péter Dunai, Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Secretary General.
PĂ©ter Sere (Senior Expert MFOI) presented the system of direct EU funds. He spoke about the Horizon Europe program, known as the largest direct source from Brussels, its structure and main points. He presented the EIC Accelerator application process and the advantages of cascade financing in more detail.
Our managing director, Dr. Gábor Vicze, approached the question from a practical point of view and answered how companies can get involved in a Horizon Europe program, and how we can help them in this.
We have collected Gábor’s best advice, which is worth keeping in mind before entering an EU tender:
- The most important thing is to have an innovative project proposal that matches the expectations of the Brussels tenders.
- The application and implementation are successful if the planned professional goals are achievable, are fulfilled by the end of the project and have a measurable impact.
- The working language of the direct projects in Brussels is English, so a team whose members have conversational English skills and adequate professional knowledge must be put together.
