Innomine represented FET Briefing at the EIC Roadshow Event – New Approach to the support of European researchers and innovators – European Innovation Council (EIC) in Budapest.
The European Commission Representation in Hungary, in cooperation with the National Research, Development and Innovation Office organized an information event to present the Enhanced European Innovation Council (EIC). Representatives of the European Commission presented the objectives of the EIC and practical information related to the submission and evaluation of proposals.
From Hungary Ádám Szigeti, Deputy State Secretary for Innovation (Ministry of Innovation and Technology) participated with Dr. István Szabó, Vice-President at National Office for Research, Development and Innovation. We welcomed also Zsuzsanna Lakatos from Falcon Vision Zrt, a successful applicant who shared her story and helped other applicats by answering their questions regarding the processes.
During the Q&A session of the event Dr Aniko Balogh, Senior Consultant at innomine raised the issue of the “European paradox”, the European phenomenon of having good research infrastructure and results but failing to translate this into marketable innovations and market success.
Patrick Child, Deputy Director-General, European Commission DG RTD welcomed this as an important point. In his answer he described that this is a significant cultural difference between Europe and the US. A possible solution may be the sensitisation of the target group and the involvment of the younger generation researchers. These are also important findings for the outcomes of the FET BRIEFING project.
We are happy to participate in such great and informative discussions and to find out the future challenges and changes, which helped us a lot to develop our project work. We are looking forward to cooperate and share experience with the participants we met at this event!
